Living a Godly Life

Living a Godly Life is kind of like the scales of justice with one big difference, we don’t want them balanced. We are constantly trying to add to the Godly side while Satan is piling up negative on the other side and he usually is very sneaky about the way he does it. I compare the Godly Life to that of a professional athlete whether it be Olympics or sports. Usually one realizes, at a fairly early age, that this is what they want to do and they start practicing to get better. They reach a level where they go to qualify as a “professional athlete”. Up to this point it had to work fairly hard to get to that point sacrificing a lot to attain their goal. If you think once they sign up things get easy you’re wrong, just ask an athlete.

Why should it be any different for a Godly Life? Once we sign on the dotted line (ask God into our life) that is when, as the expression goes, “the rubber hits the road”. Athletes always strive to become better than the competition thus making the team a winning team. We must do the same. The only difference is our competition is Satan. The most important thing is that we have to keep always checking the scales or if you are into sports, the score. If you don’t know the score how are you going to know where you are in the game of life.
