What is Judeo-Christian Theology? - El Shaddai Christian Ministries

What is Judeo-Christian Theology?

In reading and studying the Bible and understanding the Christian faith there are a lot of factors that need to be considered but unfortunately are not in today’s teachings. The first thing we need to realize is that the Bible was written over 2000 years ago and therefore all the writings were geared towards the culture and what was going on at that time. Most of us when we read the Bible we read as it relates to our beliefs and experiences in our culture but it was not written yesterday.

If we look at the Bible in the perspective of those that lived during that era and also wrote at that time I feel we get a better perspective of the Bible and a more accurate one. When I first started researching the Bible I found myself trying to reference everything that was happening more in today’s terms. I have since discovered and sincerely believe that to read and really understand the Bible we have to look at it, as I see it, through a time machine. If we place ourselves back in that time and read the Bible from that perspective it gives us a much deeper view of the Scriptures. It also radically reduces the chance of misinterpretation. We are supposed to have one faith, one God, and one Bible. If that be the case why do we have so many different religions all claiming to be Christian. The International Encyclopedia Of Religions has over thirty-three thousand faiths that all call themselves Christian, figure that one out. This is why when we read and study the Bible we should read it, as the scholars do, which they call “Sola Scriptura” (by scripture alone in English). In other words by just what God and the Scriptures say.
